Christmas Tree Time

This past Friday we got out tree for Christmas. Last year we had a fake tree for our first Christmas as a family, but this year we got our first real tree. It makes our hose smell so good. So it's officially our first Christmas together with a real tree (... he he)!

All the ornaments are from the Dollar Tree (except the top star). For as many ornaments  as we got, we only spent $27.00 for all of them plus have 5 packages (12 pieces in each) left over just as extras. The wrapping paper, ribbon and boxes are from the $0.99 Only Store. I spent $7.00 on all wrapping for presents with plenty extra. Only used two (2) rolls of wrapping paper, paying $1.98.

Checkout these stockings I found at my local $0.99 Only Store. Spent $2.97 for all three (3) stockings. The little hats attached to the hook part of the stocking are hair clips. I got a 3-pk for $0.99. I think they're so cute!

Goals for the Week

These are a list of goals I would like to accomplish by the end of the week. 

Crafts
1. Finish painting bamboo sticks.
2. Hang finished bamboo sticks around Seth's chalkboard.
3. Finish painting palm tree on Seth's wall.
4. Finish hand-sewing Seth's felt road for his cars.

Family
1. Take holiday pics of Seth (for the Christmas cards).
2. Order Christmas cards and xmas present tags.
3. Read a new story or book to Seth.

Household
1. Paint vanity in master bathroom, white.
2. Update Seth's schedule and print to hang on fridge. 
3. Mail Seth's insurance.

Personal 
1. Bleach my hair
2. Learn to meditate better - 20 minutes/twice this week.
3. Workout - 30 minutes/ twice this week.

Work
1. Create an itemized profit and loss statement (3-months) & file.
2. Create a signed and dated statement showing gross income and how often paid, then file.
3. Cut coupons, file and organize the rest of last weeks inserts.
4. Re-organize work bookshelf.



Accomplished:
1. Getting Christmas tree and decorating it.
2. Go out to eat at a new restaurant this Week: The Steam Haus GastroPub in Corona, Ca.

I really enjoyed this weekend. We had lots of fun as a family. Seth even helped decorate the tree. What a great little helper.

Kohl's Smart Shopping Trip, everything for $1.40

On December 6, 2012 I went to Kohls for their Sale and to use my Kohls Promotional $10 Gift card before it expired. Check out what I bought. These shirts I found were all on a 70% off original price. Details below.

Starting from left to right, the green shirt with the monkey on it was $4.20. The Burgundy shirt with the tractor on it was $2.40. The light blue shirt with dark sleeves was $2.40 and last the orange tee was $2.40. Total for all four (4) shirts $11.40 and I used my Kohls Promotional $10 Gift card that came in the mail a few days ago. My balance was $1.40 after the card, so that's all I paid out of my own pocket.

$.99 Cent Only Stores Best Deals 12/9

This week at the $.99 Cent Only Store, I got some great goodies. I always get excited when I go because I always find something new. My store always gets a new shipment on Tuesdays, so I go on Wednesday after everything is put out. But they have been getting some shipments on Thursdays so I visit on Friday or sometime during the weekend in the morning. 

Remember to ask a manager at your local $.99 Cent Only Stores, to see when their shipment comes in to get the best deals. Also, these are couponless deals (no coupons needed for price), everything is $0.99 or less.

I always look for brand names, because these are items that are not always there and go really fast. There are items they purchase from other grocery stores that didn't sell or the palette might have been dinged on accident, so they sell the palettes to the $.99 only stores for cheaper and/or right before the food expires. The grace period I've seen the expiration dates on most foods I get, are between 1 to 6 months before they expire. Other times it's not food but foil, baby bottles, baby toys, etc. I usually find a lot of Evenflo and Beechnut products. It saved me so much money on many items.

Kohl's $10 Promotional Gift is Back for the Dream Gifts Sale

Save more with your $10 gift during their dream gifts sale. Yesterday I checked the mail and found a little treat. It was a Kohls Promotional $10 gift card. It came attached to a Kohls flyer like the one below in Exhibit A. The flyer is an advertisment for Kohls Dream Gifts Sale going from on Thursday, November 29 through Saturday, December 8, 2012. Make sure if you get this flyer in the mail, do not throw it away before checking the back for your Kohl's Promotional $10 Gift Card. It is good towards everything in the store that's $10 or more before taxes. It includes clearance items, sale items and regular priced items. I've been shopping with these cards for over a year now, and have gotten some great deals.
